Hello dear distant relatives! I am Martha DeWeese, now married to a journalist named Hoig. I am descended from the first American DeWeese, Garrett Hendricks deWeese through Lewis, Samuel, David, Cornelius, James Madison DeWeese, Homer DeWeese and James R. DeWeese. I am also a painter, getting back into it after letting a first marriage, children, divorce and having to earn a living get in the way of creating. I now share a studio in downtown Omaha with my daughter and am delighted to see the creative spark so beautifully demonstrated by you 3 wonderful artists! I would love to hear from any of you.
Very nice work. I work in wire too, fun, but a growing passion too! Robert

I miss montana, and I hope that all is well out in Gallitin valley Lots of love jonathan
I discovered this website while looking for information on Robert DeWeese as a consequence of re-reading Pirsig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. I intend to visit it often. What I have seen is beautiful and a joy to behold. Could you send me a brief biography of Robert and any comments on his influence on Peter Voulkas?

I really enjoyed seeing and reading about all three of the DeWeese artists. You all work so differently but all are exciting. Perky Cohen
This is a great site for inspiration...THANKS!!! I am anxiously awaiting Josh's workshop early next year at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia. Being the "clay workshop junkie" that I am, I just finished a John Gill workshop at Chester Springs Studio (west of Philly). Josh's friend, Michael Connelly, was at the workshop as well. Both men gave Josh a very high recommendation. Before that workshop, I did not know of Josh's relationship with The Archey Bray and to Montana. I must confess that when I "grow up," I want to move to MT and be a full-time potter somewhere in the Bitter Root Valley. My best regards...John Wear, New Hope, PA...it's near Philly.
Mary Overlie sent me to your website. I love your work! I am especially spoken to by Tina's collages. You should be seeing Mary soon, as I just gave her a ticket to Montana for next week. A.
